At least that is one possibility for the appearance of the huge lunar eclipse that will be seen in its totality in the American west early Saturday am as it sets in the west. Or it might be bright orange red, according to an atmospheric scientist who has studied lunar eclipse colors for many years. Whatever color the moon ends up displaying as Earth’s shadow cradles it, there will likely be a hint of turquoise around the edges. You can read the full article here at the NASA site. There’s also a link to an informative video there, and Spaceweather.com provided these links for viewing the eclipse live: Hong Kong; India; North Dakota; Nevada

Did you notice that Dec 10 is the 19th anniversary of Hopi Elder Thomas Banyacya addressing the UN under a blood red lunar eclipse? (His warning about the great purification on the front page of your blog was made then.)
Think the world heeded his warning?
I didn’t think of that until after I wrote the post, Jules. It was dark red from the Mount Pinatubo ash.
